I read a lot of reviews on yelp about this business not being great. I was hesitant to use them, but after some scheduling back and forth, the technician (Francisco) was on time and very kind and professional. I'd highly recommend them and would definitely use them again.
I was a new home owner with an 20 year old HVAC system that clearly needed to be replaced! Sean walked me through different options, systems, recommendations, pro/cons, and even financing options! He was really helpful and not pushy! The install team was awesome too! Really nice, hardworking guys. Showed up on time, got the job done asap, and even cleaned up after themselves 🙂
My A/C went out Thursday evening, so I made arrangements for a tech to come out from Freschi for Saturday morning. He hooks up his voltmeter and tells me my motor is shot...wha? Oh, and that a new package unit will cost as much as 18K. Wait, hold on! I already have central air, so the ducting is there...$99 later. Now I'm depressed as I just bought this house 3 months ago, and need to wait before I have any money again. I spend an hour rigging my portable ac to a window so I won't die. I finally find my home warranty, and they send out a tech this afternoon. Mario shows up, and within five minutes says that the module is loose. I'm up and running! He even finds a wire clip that will keep the module from vibrating out. I'm so freaking happy that I ask him if he can upgrade my thermostat. Sweet!!! Honesty and integrity reign supreme! When my 1977 Rheem dinosaur enters the tar pit, I will be sure to call your guys for the install!!! You're awesome Mario!!
I highly recommend this California Heating & Cooling! My 30-year old 2.5-ton York A/C finally broke down in July so I decided it was time to replace both the A/C condenser and furnace. I wanted to upgrade to a 3-ton, minimum 16 SEER system. I contacted several companies and got quotes for various configurations of single stage, 2-stage and multi-stage systems. Sean Henson was my contact with California Heating & Cooling. Although I learned a lot about how the systems went together and the energy savings with each configuration from other company reps, Sean's knowledge, along with his diagrams and explanations, really helped me clarify what I wanted. There was absolutely no pressure to upsell me. As with the other companies I received estimates from, Sean provided me with two different configurations I was interested in. I ended up deciding on a 3-ton Carrier Infinity system that is 19 SEER, multi-stage A/C and furnace with a heavy duty 4" filter (I have pets), and a digital wi-fi thermostat. California Heating & Cooling accreditations (A+ BBB, Diamond Certified, screened and approved by Home Advisor), the extended labor warranty, and the very reasonable cost of the top-of-the-line system actually made my decision to go with them fairly easy. Every one I dealt with was professional and friendly. The cost of my system was not only very competitive with other Carrier quotes for the same configuration, it was about $2,000 less than quotes for a Lennox 14 SEER single stage condenser/2-stage furnace and only about $500 more than a 17 SEER quote for a Carrier 2-stage system from another company. Once I made my decision, installation was about 2 weeks out which was a similar timeline to the other companies I talked with. The installation crew, led by Mark and Alex showed up on time and got right to work. I have a zero lot line home, which means access to the back yard is through the garage only (or over the fence). The garage door to the back yard was too narrow for the condenser unit to pass through, so after moving my 12x12 hardtop gazebo away from the sliding patio door, they were able to take the condenser through the house to the back. My home is a two story, but I only have one return on the first floor in a corner under the stairs. Because the new system was more powerful, the return needed to be larger. The old return duct, which, as it turned out, was damaged and useless anyway, was removed. The small return vent opening was enlarged to twice its size, and a vent "room" was built and insulated under the stairs connecting to the furnace duct. The system installation was completed in about 8 hours. Sean came out and touched bases with both me and the install team as the crew was setting up and getting ready to work. Mark and Alex were great team leads and problem solvers. All of the installers were friendly and professional. The work done and the new equipment look good, the old stuff was carted away, and all the work areas cleaned up before they left. Finally, as promised by Sean, there was no additional cost to me for any of the additional work required to get my system up and running. Finally, the duct testing inspection from a third party vendor, as well as the final inspection from the city inspector, were signed off with no issues. I definitely recommend California Heating & Cooling if you're looking at a new HVAC system.
Raul showed up exactly when he said he would, diagnosed my problem in minutes, had the necessary parts with him and the expertise to fix it in no time - gave me a couple of options and solved my problem for about 1/10 of what I thought it was going to cost. I could not have been more satisfied!
